Wayne Michael DeHart  (April 9, 2017)

“. . . much like an old, dust-covered book, waiting patiently to be rescued, its words to be touched.” ¹

The writings here are diverse and eclectic in nature. There is no central theme, viewpoint or commonality of purpose. There is a mix of poetry (many of the poems are of a storytelling nature), fact-based fiction, and stories  that were created completely out of whole cloth. There is sincere, heartfelt emotion and there is humor that ranges from light to dark. There is an abundance of wit, whimsy, and wordplay.  There is endless evidence of the author’s lifelong affinity for alliteration. You may stumble across  occasional nuggets of reason and logic, insight and intuition, and, hopefully, wisdom and intellect. (Naw, just kidding on those last two.)

Be forewarned, however, that some entries include material or language that could be described as suggestive, indelicate, titillating, bawdy, ribald, or risqué, in the playful manner of innocuous, mainstream sitcoms. They do not cross the proverbial line and are employed for expressive/descriptive purposes.

Usage of the forever-endearing double entendre is beyond plentiful in these stories and poems.  Whether they induce knowing nods, giggles, and grins, or simply result in groans and guttural guffaws, well, that verdict rests with the reader. There is also a generous portion of “Easter eggs” in these writings, well hidden in some cases, but worth finding. For every one you find, you get to say, “AHA!” – and we all know how good that feels on a dreary afternoon.

What won’t be found here is a political or polemic agenda in any form.
